Released: 10 May Duke is the tenth studio album by English rock band Genesis, released in March on Charisma Records. The album followed a period of inactivity for the band in early Phil Collins moved to Vancouver, Canada, in an effort to salvage his failing first marriage, while Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford recorded solo albums.  · I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch 4/5.

Engineered by David Hentschel of Dukeslodge Enterprises Ltd. Recorded at Polar Studios Sweden. Mixed at Maison Rouge London. Mastered at Trident. Remastered at The Farm and Abbey Road. All .

The penultimate Duke's Travels is a hidden gem, showcasing Phil's thundering drums, wicked guitar riffs by Mike, and the brilliant Tony Banks serving up pure musical nirvana on the keys. The musical journey of Duke is a treat from the opening chord of Behind the Lines until the needle rises off of Duke's End/5().

This CD is a good disc set. The songs are consistent, making the work enjoyable from start to finish. It is far better that the next album (Abacab). The favorite tracks are "Behind The Lines", "Duchess," "Misunderstanding" and "Turn It On Again", there are other beautiful songs as "Duke's Travels" and "Duke's /5().

Comment List

  • The music on the Remaster album took me back to the enjoyment I first had as a teenager listening to this wonderful cacophony of sound from Behind the Lines then transitioning into Duchess fantastical. Continuing awesomeness from Guide Vocal clear through to Duke's Travels/Duke's /5().
